A new family medicine practice has joined the Little River Healthcare family in the Central Texas city of Taylor as of Nov. 15, 2016.
The practice, Little River Healthcare – Taylor Primary Care, is a three nurse practitioner (NP) clinic that has been in operation since 2011. The practice is headed up by Cynthia Smith and Joan Maxfield, who began the practice together. It also has a third part-time nurse practitioner, Diana Arteaga.
Because the clinic is a family practice, the NPs see patients across the board, from young to old. They are also able to offer care in both Spanish and English to their patients. In addition, Maxfield said the office has specialists who come in frequently, including a dermatologist who visits monthly, a podiatrist who visits every two weeks, and a cardiologist who visits weekly, to provide even more specialized services to patients.
Although the practice is not currently accepting new patients, Maxfield said her hope is to hire another nurse practitioner soon so that the clinic can accommodate more patients.
Taylor Primary Care is located at 601 Mallard Lane in Taylor and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. For more information, call 512-352-3200.
